About

This site provides information on the New Hampshire Government Finance Officers Association (NHGFOA), an association of nearly 400 state and local government finance officers and others interested in public finance. Our goal is to develop mutually understandable procedures of accounting and financial reporting, budgeting and capital planning, cash management, financial administration and debt management. We hope to encourage the use of the appropriate technology, to encourage the use of consistent financial classification and principles, and to promote ethical, high quality governmental service.

NHGFO strives to develop closer relationships and understanding among those concerned with public finance in New Hampshire by facilitating a system of networking, by promoting training and sharing of information among finance officers, by identifying career enhancement opportunities, and by providing a forum for the discussion of common issues and problems.

Active membership is open to all finance or accounting officers, whether elected or appointed, employed in any public jurisdiction of the State. Associate membership is open to any other person who is interested in the principles and practices of governmental finance and who supports the purposes of the Association. If interested, visit the Membership tab for more detailed information.

The Association holds one formal meeting: a business meeting in conjunction with the annual NHGFOA spring conference.
